Payhip provides the ecommerce, checkout and digital-delivery platform. Stripe processes card payments, refunds and associated payment-security checks.
Areas Grey Files are supplied electronically, normally as PDF files. No physical item will be posted unless the product page expressly states otherwise.
You will need:
internet access to complete checkout and initially download the file;
a device capable of storing the file;
reasonably current PDF-reading software.
The product page states the language, approximate length, edition and material included.
Colours, typography and page rendering may vary slightly between screens, software and printers.
The total price, including applicable consumption taxes, is shown before checkout.
A contract is formed when the order is accepted and the digital product is made available through Payhip.
Areas Grey may cancel and refund an order where there has been an obvious pricing error, technical fault, suspected fraud or legal reason preventing supply.
Digital products are normally made available immediately after checkout.
Payhip displays a download page and sends an email receipt containing a link through which the product can be accessed.
You are responsible for providing a valid email address and retaining your receipt and download link.
Contact Areas Grey if legitimate access needs to be restored.
Paid digital content is supplied immediately rather than after the ordinary 14-day cancellation period.
Before completing a paid order, you will be asked to:
consent expressly to the immediate supply of the digital content; and
acknowledge that your ordinary right to cancel will be lost once supply begins.
This does not affect statutory rights where digital content is faulty, materially misdescribed, not supplied as agreed or otherwise fails to comply with consumer law.
Purchasing or downloading an Areas Grey File grants one individual a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence for personal, non-commercial use.
You may:
retain the file on devices you personally use;
make reasonable backup copies;
print copies for your own personal use;
quote limited passages where lawful and properly attributed.
You must not, without written permission:
share, distribute or upload the complete file or substantial parts of it;
place it on a shared drive, public website or file-sharing service;
resell, rent, sublicense or commercially exploit it;
reproduce or adapt it as another publication or commercial product;
remove copyright, licence or attribution notices;
use it as training, evaluation or source data for an artificial-intelligence or machine-learning system;
use it to encourage trespass, unlawful excavation, heritage damage or unsafe activity.
Nothing in this licence restricts lawful fair dealing, quotation, criticism, review or other rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Institutions, publishers and organisations requiring broader use should contact Areas Grey.
If a full refund is issued, the personal-use licence ends immediately. The customer must cease using the product and delete all copies in their possession or control.
Areas Grey Files may concern incomplete records, disputed interpretations and unresolved historical questions.
No publication guarantees that:
a hypothesis is correct;
a location has been identified;
a mystery can be resolved;
an investigation will succeed;
access, searching, excavation or recovery is lawful or authorised.
Areas Grey may correct errors, clarify wording or replace a file with a revised edition.
Where the original Payhip download remains active, existing purchasers may be able to obtain the corrected replacement without repurchasing.
Purchase of one edition does not automatically include a substantially expanded future product, sequel or collected edition.
Refunds and digital-content remedies are handled under the Areas Grey Digital Product Refund Policy.
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts mandatory consumer rights, including rights relating to digital content that is not of satisfactory quality, fit for an agreed purpose, as described or lawfully supplied.
Areas Grey Files must not be used to justify trespass, unlawful searching, unauthorised excavation, damage to heritage, removal of objects or unsafe fieldwork.
Real-world activity remains subject to ownership, permission, heritage law, environmental protection and safety requirements.
Areas Grey does not accept responsibility for decisions or real-world actions based on speculative, incomplete or disputed historical information.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
